Rates: I bill at $120 an hour. I have decided to flat-rate these cases. $400 gets you an answer (once you are sued) and my entry of appearance. I also enter into negotiations on your behalf if that is what you wish. I charge $1100 (Total $1500) plus mileage (.30 cents a mile) if we end up going to trial. I found out Directv's new offer to settle is $4000. I strongly recommend an attorney for this matter. People who try to represent themselves on their own will only really harm themselves and put themselves at a huge disadvantage when dealing with the Bill Collectors and Attorneys of Directv. As sad as it sounds, if you are innocent, you still need to retain an attorney. If you are innocent your choices are going to be pay Directv $4000 for something you did not do or pay an attorney a reasonable fee and perhaps recover your attorneys fees based on malicious prosecution.
